Specifically, the 9th gen euro variant 3dr hatch T-Sport. Here's why

1. holy hell I did not know a Corolla could look this good

2. holy hell I forgot how good the 2zz sounded (0:23 for drive off)

3. SUPERCHARGER. Factory S/C on a Corolla!

4. 6 SPEED OH GOD DAMMIT THIS IS LOVE

That's the Corolla that got in with the wrong crowd when it was younger and started hanging out with ST's and RS's. It wasn't sure if it belonged or not but it did what it needed to in order to impress its brethren until this erupted in a DBZ Super Saiyan moment when a beigest of beige Corollas was picked on a little too much. Thus the T-Sport was born.

IIRC the Matrix couldn't be had with 2zz/manual, no? Nothing a simple swap can't handle. But god damn that T-Sport. I wonder if, post graduation, work would suddenly find me where these are common...

Part of me is conflicted because FWD, but it still fits the spirit of the original Sprinter Trueno so damn well. Great build of a cheap car. New 86 is great, but feels too...I don't know, dedicated.

I'm not normally much of a fan but I really enjoyed test driving the FiST and FoST when I went to help my Dad shop recently. He ended up with AWD but he liked both of those quite a lot too.

Back when Toyota believed "the future" of car ads was filming a boring car in front of a green screen and adding flashy effects on top of it.

I think it was the consciousness around that time that car ads that showed you breaking the speed limit with real cars would get pulled or cause people to think the company was reckless, so to get around it, they started showing "sporty" cars entirely in CGI. This didn't work. At all.

I'm not huge on the 9th's headlights, seem to big. Maybe some darkened halos, something that doesn't scream as much. And I am really digging that 8th gen hatch's GT-Four's little brother look. Would love to tear up some uphills with it
